Thailand announces e-visa for Indians from Jan 1, 60-day exemption to continue
Upper Primary teaching job aspirants in West Bengal held a protest rally on Wednesday, marching from Raju Subodh Mallick Square to Dharmatala’s Dorina Crossing. The rally was attended by candidates who cleared the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) and hold B.Ed. qualifications. A five-member delegation is scheduled to visit Nabanna to present their demands, primarily focused on the immediate start of recruitment interviews.
Protesters highlighted that they have been waiting for Upper Primary recruitment since clearing the TET in 2014, with no interviews conducted to date. According to the aspirants, multiple recruitment processes have been completed for Primary-level teachers since the same TET, while Upper Primary candidates have seen no progress. They demanded a second round of interviews for Upper Primary vacancies and an expedited hiring process to address the prolonged delay.
Many aspirants raised concerns about becoming ineligible due to exceeding the maximum age limit over the years. They called on the state government to fulfill earlier promises, including the commitment to create 10 lakh jobs, and ensure that trained and TET-qualified Upper Primary candidates are given priority in the recruitment process.
